Dispute prevention resolution specialist — Workers' Compensation
Alternative Dispute Resolution unit

This position provides assistance and education in dispute prevention and resolution. It analyzes complex workers' compensation issues; certification of disputes regarding medical and vocational rehabilitation benefits; educates customers regarding effective dispute resolution strategies; develops and facilitates mediation sessions; and conducts administrative conferences.

The position intervenes and negotiates legally binding resolutions in a variety of cases, while encouraging early and efficient use of alternative dispute resolution.

This position provides specialized vocational rehabilitation services and medical monitoring in accordance with the workers' compensation law, the rehabilitation rules, and with consideration of the rights and responsibilities of the injured worker to facilitate the resolution of a claim for benefits by return to work or other positive result.
